Savannah Sparrow (Passerculus sandwichensis) sits on a budding branch. I captured this image at the Needham, MA Recycling Transfer Station (i.e. The Dump). It was far away, but my Sigma zoom lens stepped up to the task!

I've used cameras since I was 10 years old, yet it is only in the past 10 years that I wanted to share my view with others. While I love shooting soccer games, it was a close up encounter with a red wing blackbird that made me want you to share these visions. I am always amazed at how detailed and vibrant are the colors of even the most common and plain bird, plant, flower, butterfly, or ant. Nature gives us amazing wildlife to see, even in our own backyards. I hope you experience the same joy while looking at my images that I felt while capturing these critters in my camera.
